Ah….there is nothing quite as relaxing as spending a weekend with good friends. It’s even better if there is an ocean nearby! After arriving in the valley on Saturday, we drove through the canyon and enjoyed a nice Sunday brunch in Malibu. After we finished eating, we had a little time to walk along the beach. We really enjoyed our visit. Our friends were great hosts, and we are already looking forward to seeing them again soon.
What a treat to see baby Flamingos! I didn’t have my camera but I did have my phone. Never use your zoom on your camera phone. It sucks. I used the zoom on my camera phone.
This little fella looks like he’s high-centered, but Mom is here to help.
One can work up quite an appetite getting stranded.
I found this message on the sidewalk during my morning walk. Obviously, my neighbors don’t know me very well. 🙂
I am working again. Not sure for how long, but I do stop by all your blogs even though I sometimes don’t have time to comment.
Have a super weekend, and remember to be good to each other!
The folk who live in the waves call out to me-
“We sing from morning till night; on and on we travel and know
not where we pass.”
I ask, “But how am I to join you?”
They tell me, “Come to the edge of the shore and stand with
your eyes tight shut, and you will be carried out upon the waves.”
I say, “My mother always wants me at home in the everything-
how can I leave her and go?”
They smile, dance and pass by.
But I know a better game than that.
I will be the waves and you will be a strange shore.
I shall roll on and on and on, and break upon your lap with
And no one in the world will know where we both are.
~ Rabindranath Tagore from the poem “Clouds and Waves”
Technically one is a boat and they’re not passing in the night. But whose keeping track, right?
The city of Venice, CA forgot to check with me and find out which days I would be visiting before they decided to drain the canals for their Spring cleaning. Imagine that! That didn’t stop this family of 3 from taking an early morning boat trip. I don’t know how many times I have walked these canals, but this is the first time I have seen anyone actually paddling down them.
I love this drink holder we saw on a bike at a shop along the beach. I actually saw someone riding a bike that had one of these, too, so I know they are functional.
I am back in the desert and miss the beach and my partner in crime horribly. I hope I don’t bore you with too many beach pictures!
Here’s hoping your weekend is smooth sailing!
