Santa Monica Pier

A few miles to the north of the boardwalk in Venice is the world famous Santa Monica Pier. Those are the Santa Monica mountains in the background. We didn’t make it up there this time. It’s not too far a walk up there – but twice as far if you want to come back. πŸ™‚

  1. I’d pass on the hike and opt for a ride on the ferris wheel instead.

I don’t know…I’m afraid it would be drawing me like a magnet. But then I would be grousing the entire walk back. Happy Friday! I’ll see you later today. Yeah!

Lizzi and I went to Venice Beach for a long weekend a couple of years back and I really enjoyed it which was a surprise because I had this preconceived Idea that I would dislike LA. Venice Beach still somehow had the feel of a small town and had everything you needed withing walking distance of the hotel.

  7. And probably super duper expensive. The one thing about my life in California….I was poor. A teacher’s salary doesn’t get you far there:) So I’d buy a bottle of wine, plant my butt on the beach with a book and pretend to ride the rides:)

Nice pic of a place I have heard about a lot. I went to Saint Monica’s school, in Santa Monica, when I was in the 1st grade and was in Seattle by the 2nd grade and Portland by the third grade—whew I am so tired. LOL MB
