Suuh-wing, Batter!

Yes, it’s that time of year again! The time of year I post my obligatory Spring Training photo. Yesterday was opening day for many teams here in the Valley of the Sun and the beginning of an annual tradition for many. For 10 bucks you can grab a blanket and a lawn seat to soak up some rays and catch a little baseball action.

We used the opportunity yesterday to get in a little exercise and walked around, pausing to watch the game now and then. With the slow economy, teams are doing whatever they can to bring in fans. I noticed that concession prices have dropped a level from OhMyGod Β to GoodLord. And what kind of food, you may ask, can someone who is deep into their 3rd week of Jenny Craig buy at the ballpark? The answer is: not much. Bottled water, diet soda and the 3 flavors of sugar free son-cones that are offered pretty much sums it up. We took our Jenny snacks and managed not to feel too deprived. I admit to missing the brew and hot dog that is a tradition for us, but we walked out satisfied that it was not our wallets that felt lighter.

What a lovely obligatory Spring Training photo this is too! Glad you were able to stick to your Jenny guns and do the right thing. Isn’t it amazing how much we tie food into our entertainment? It was a beautiful day to start the season.
